Guidelines for the file writing procedure
Operational document for workshops and installers. It summarises the pre-write checklist, the handling of EGR/DPF/OPF/SCR during the intervention and the post-programming checks, to ensure a clean installation of the remapped file and minimise residual anomalies.
Pre-write operations
Error clearing
Perform a full DTC clear on the engine ECU (and on related ECUs, if required by the solution). It is advisable to send us the diagnostic log so that we can identify and remove the DTCs associated with the solution directly in the file.
Follow the required steps
Each solution may require specific steps (coding, adaptations, key sequences). Strictly follow the instructions attached to the file: do not apply generic procedures.
EGR OFF
When the file disables the EGR, it is advisable to install the EGR blanking plate. Any hesitations, misses or irregular running may be due to an EGR mechanically stuck in the open position.
DPF / OPF OFF
Perform a forced DPF regeneration before writing. If forced regeneration is not possible, drive a few kilometres with the vehicle at operating temperature to complete any regeneration in progress. If the DPF has already been physically removed, you can still drive to complete the regenerations; the vehicle may enter recovery mode without mechanical damage. Finally, perform the ash reset (or equivalent, depending on the diagnostic tool).
SCR reset
Complete all SCR system resets prescribed by the manufacturer. Check that the AdBlue tank is not in reserve (insufficient level may falsify the post-write verification).
Post-write operations
Post-programming error clearing
Run a new DTC clear to remove any errors generated during programming (momentary communication loss, key cycles, adaptation reinitialisation).
Functional verification
Start the vehicle and verify proper operation of the systems: stable idle, no warning lights, throttle response, turbo behaviour. Perform a short road test if necessary.
